In the water area of the Gulf of Finland in the city of Vyborg will be held a colorful Festival of water tourism, organized by the Committee of the Leningrad region on tourism and the state budgetary institution LO "Information and tourist center." The main events of the Festival will unfold on the Smolyan Cape and on the embankment of the 40th anniversary of the Komsomol. The program of the Festival includes demonstration performances and competitions in water sports, a parade of small boats and original water vehicles. The extensive business program of the Festival, in which representatives of the media will be able to take part, will touch on the development and popularization of water tourism in the Leningrad Region. Participation of foreign visitors from Finland is planned, with which the Vyborg district borders. The festive atmosphere of the Festival will be complemented by performances of jazz bands, performers of a bard song, folklore ensembles and artists of the original genre. The final chord of the holiday will be a grand firework, the glow of which will repeatedly reflect from the water surface of the Gulf of Finland.

Sights: Vyborg has preserved many medieval buildings and the famous Vyborg Castle. It was founded in 1293 during the third Swedish crusade on a small island in the Gulf of Finland on the border of two states. Only in 1710, after many years of trying to win back the fortress from the Swedes, did the Russian army, led by Peter I, win. Today it is the only European-type castle in Russia. In the main building of the castle is Vyborg Museum of Local Lore. There are also concerts, festivals, knightly tournaments. One of the venues of the Festival is the Market Square, on which stands the famous Round Tower р stone artillery tower of the rondel type, one of the two surviving military towers of the medieval Vyborg fortress. Built in 1547-1550 by Hann (Hans) Bergen, fortification engineer. Currently, various renovations are taking place in the Round Tower and a restaurant is located. Tourists will be able to stroll through the old street of Vyborg and breathe the spirit of the Middle Ages.
