The event gastronomic festival “Ranenburg feast” at the end of July takes place annually in the historical center of the city of Chaplygin. From early morning on, Sovetskaya Street becomes the center of events, which turns into the village of Slobodskoye of the beginning of the 18th century with numerous “Obzornymi ryadami”. As part of the festival, a theatrical procession of historical characters and participants of the festival takes place. In the shade of the city park in stoves, on fires, skewers and barbecues, in boilers, cast irons and even pumpkins, the best chefs of the district are engaged in preparing specialties according to old recipes. In addition to the gastronomic pleasures of the festival, performances by artists, harmonists and part-time artists, folk games and entertainments, exhibitions from museums and private collections, souvenir series, master classes from the best artisans are waiting for them.
