Tomsk Marathon is a real tour of the ancient streets, places of incredible energy. There is a plot with an old cobblestone pavement, turns. The marathon route, laid in the ancient center of Tomsk, captivates all participants. This track is filled with history and beauty, and every year it changes direction. In an even year, athletes run counterclockwise, and in an odd year - clockwise, and the honored university city - the heart of Siberia - opens up for marathoners from a new angle.
The marathon distance consists of two circles of 21.1 km, laid along the very heart of the city.
Starting on one of the most beautiful squares of the city - Novobosornaya, the participants of the marathon will run along Lenin Avenue, which is not without reason called the "University Avenue". As many as four universities - the power and pride of Tomsk - stand shoulder to shoulder.
Then the marathoners will head towards the Camp Garden. And from him they turn left to run through the streets of Gagarin, Sovetskaya, Kuznetsova and see the most beautiful wooden mansions where merchants and enlighteners, artisans and merchants once lived. With their own eyes they will see how beautiful this intricate wooden lace is, with what love and fiction these ancient houses were built.
Further, the route takes marathon runners to Shishkova and Oktyabrskaya streets, then to White Lake and Oktyabrsky Vzvoz. Monuments of wooden architecture, the finest patterns of architectural lace, cozy courtyards and poplar foliage, enveloping in coolness ... From here Tomsk began in 1604. The cobblestone pavements of these streets hold many secrets. According to legend, it is under them that the legendary Tomsk catacombs are hidden - the streets of the ancient city of Gracion.
During the race, the bell ringing of the Holy Trinity, Resurrection Churches and the Epiphany Cathedral will remind of the history of the city and give strength.
Further, the marathon will pass through the streets of Karl Marx, near the River Station, along the embankment of the Tom River. Here the spirit of Tomsk merchants reigns, here are the monuments of Russian Baroque and Art Nouveau - the heritage that forms the original look of the city ..
