“God of the Guitar” Eric Clapton returns to St. Petersburg - 18 years after the previous performance. The concert will take place on June 27, 2020 at the Ice Palace as part of the European tour.
2020 will be a jubilee for the great guitarist - Eric Clapton will celebrate 50 years of solo career. His first album - after participating in the British rock legends The Yardbirds and Cream - was released in 1970 and was simply called "Eric Clapton". Since then, the musician has released 23 studio albums, which are distributed around the world with a circulation of more than 100 million copies.
Eric Clapton received 18 Grammy Awards and became the only artist to be included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times. He took second place in the list of 100 greatest guitarists of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine and fourth place in the list of 50 best guitarists of all time according to Gibson.
A close friend of George Harrison, he worked closely with The Beatles - both in full force and separately with members of this great group. Together with him it was considered an honor to work Elton John, Sting, Cheryl Crow, BB King.
