The Parish Fair and Festival of Parsky Kalach is held in the old Russian village of Parskoe, Ivanovo Region, which will be 620 years old in 2019, annually since 1996. But this is modernity. It is impossible to establish the year when the fair was first held in Parsky. Locals keep the legend that the beginning of its activities is associated with the name of Ivan the Terrible. Allegedly, during the second campaign on Kazan in 1549-1550. He ordered the formation of one of the regiments in our region. During the review of the troops the king was in Parsky. Here he marked the day of his angel at the end of August. He liked the village. After the capture of Kazan in 1552, Ivan the Terrible sent the image of John the Baptist as a gift to the local church. People from different places came to pray before the royal gift. Particularly crowded in the village was Ivanov's day (August 29, according to Art. Style). This time began to use merchants. From now on, as it were, the fair, called Ivanovo, began to be held in the village.
