The XIV International Theater Festival of Contemporary Drama “Kolyada-Plays” will be held in Yekaterinburg from June 20 to 30, 2020. “Kolyada Plays” is one of the brands of the Sverdlovsk Region. The festival brings together more than twenty theater groups from Russia and abroad.

The main program of the festival is to watch theatrical performances based on plays by Nikolai Kolyada, young Ural playwrights and laureates of the Eurasia contest and their public discussion by theater critics.
Along with the main program, an off-program is being implemented in the form of out-of-competition shows, cultural projects and events in the field of dramaturgy, scenography, performing skills, theater management and education technologies, and publishing.
Winners are determined in 4 nominations: the best performance, the best work of the director, best female role and best male role. Prizes in additional nominations are also awarded.
Applications for participation from theater groups are accepted from February 1 to April 1, 2020.
